Pre-Purchase Inspection

Whether you are buying an old or newer home, it is in your best interest to have the property inspected before you make that down payment. Hiring a licensed home inspector is the best road map to finding your dream house. Our qualified inspector will be able to provide you with a detailed analysis of many aspects of the house. Making your buying decision much easier and more confident.
Our home inspections adhere to the Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice of the American Society of Home Inspectors Inc. To inspect readily accessible, visually observable, installed systems and components listed in these Standards of Practice. You can view these at: www.ashi.org. We include a copy in your report.

Radon Testing

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas produced by the radioactive decay of the element radium. It usually enters a house or building through openings in the ground, and its presence increases the risk of lung cancer. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends that all homes be tested for radon. Visit the EPA radon web site for more information.

If you live in an area where elevated radon levels are sometimes detected, it is strongly recommended that you have a radon screening test performed. If your house or building is in an area where radon levels are generally low, it is up to you to decide whether to have a radon screening preformed. Just because a building is in an area with typically low radon levels does not means that the radon level in the particular building you are purchasing will be low.

Termite Inspections

A complete property inspection for wood destroying pests and organisms, or WDO's.

Septic Inspections

A septic system receives, treats and disposes of unwanted wastewater and solids from a building's plumbing system. Solids are partially broken down into sludge within a septic tank and are separated from effluent (water) and scum (fat, oil and grease). Effluent regularly exits the tank into a drainfield where it is naturally filtered by bacteria and reentered into the groundwater. Scum and sludge must be pumped periodically and should never enter the drainfield. What we do is inspect the whole system to make sure everything is working correctly.
